yes, he did! it was cool. although… to be honest, I was waiting for him to do or say something amazing, but nothing really happened. he talked about how he emerged as a self-taught architect, and also told some stories about some of his early projects. Ando even cracked some really good jokes. I just felt like the lecture fell short of substance… he didn’t even say anything controversial! (unlike the Thom Mayne lecture that we had last year) (Thom also attended the Ando lecture, so it was pretty surreal to be in the same room as both of them)
Ando seems like a really cool dude though. and his work is amazing. AND his hair is purple. what a hip fellow
